Before handing over the certificates to the trainers, two representatives from partner organizations, will share their experience in implementation of Savings Game Virtual Training in Albania and impressions from the beneficiaries. Let us introduce the two speakers from Albania: Mrs. Margarita Buxhaku from the Albanian Centre for Environmental Governance (ACEG) and Dr. Mihallaq Qirjo from the Resource Environmental Centre Albania (REC).
Mrs. Margarita Buxhaku is the Executive Director of ACEG. She has more than 15 years of experience in community development, the banking sector and civil society engagement.
She has led several projects and initiatives in supporting local communities, with a particular focus on rural development, environmental awareness, and local democracy in Korca region. Margarita will share her experience in implementing the Virtual Savings Games Trainings in rural areas in Albania.
Dr. Mihallaq Qirjo is the Executive director of REC. He has an environmental background and has worked on research of different ecosystems and biodiversity. Dr. Qirjo is an associate professor, lecturing for the Faculty of Natural Sciences, at Tirana University, since 1990.
He has 30 years of professional experience in the field of environment and climate change, with internationally funded projects and with different Albanian environmental institutions. He has contributions in design and implementation of several environmental and development programs of national and regional scale in the field of policy and institution structuring, public participation, education, regional cooperation and dialogue. His academic and research work yielded over 30 scientific papers, students’ study books and training manuals.
The Savings Game Virtual Classroom Training in Albania was organized in November 2020. Two Master Trainers from German Sparkassenstiftung for International Cooperation facilitated the trainings for participants from our partner organizations:Resource Environmental Centre Albania (REC), Albanian Centre for Environmental Governance (ACEG), UniFin and Junior Achievement of Albania (JAA).
